Kerala Evergreen Football Club which is launched recently in Kerala have set their sight on the I-league.
All India Football Federation earlier had hinted an I-league team from Kerala. The club which is owned by Singapore company has set their sight on I-League for the upcoming season. The club will be based in Thiruvananthapuram, this will be the first club from the city playing in I-league. They are expected to play in Greenfield Stadium for the upcoming season.
The club CEO Jiri Cerny who was also a managing director at Juventus have set his standard high on facilities and at the same time focusing on the local talent in the state. Kerala is passionate about their football and it would not be difficult for the club to find talented Mallus for the team.
Talking about the model CEO emphasised on a self sustainable model like Athletico Bilbao of Spain, Where the majority of the domestic signing come from the Academy. The club will rely heavily on the local talent in the state and will sign foreigner if needed.
They have huge plans on starting an academy in Kerala and giving much-needed exposure to players by sending them to England and Spain.
This is great news for Kerala football fans, having an I-league club will assure that Kerala Local talent will not get unnoticed and there will be enough opportunity for the young players to showcase their talent.
