Indian Women Team Thumb New Zealand, Enter World Cup Semi Finals
Indian women team brought out their A game in the last game of the league stage beating New Zealand by 186 runs. With this victory, Indian women team have qualified for the semi finals of the women world cup.
India was facing must win situations coming into this match. A victory would have assured Indian team to move into semi finals. India had a bad started, with both the openers going back to pavilions within the first quarter of play.
Harmanpreet Kaur and Mitali Raj steadied the ship for the team, both put on 100 run stand and as soon as Kaur tried to up the tempo of the game she got out to Kasperek. In the final few overs of Indian innings, Mitali Raj and Veda Krishnamurthy started smashing Kiwis bowlers all over the park which resulted in a good total of 265.
With Momentum from the first Inning, the Indian team was unstoppable in bowling, New Zealand never gets going and was bundled out for 79 runs. Rajashwari Gayakwad took 5 wickets for just 15 runs. This Victory assured Indian women team spot in semi finals where they will join Australia, England, and South Africa.
