Team Turkey makes only their 3rd appearance in the FIFA U-17 World Cup competition. having previously appeared in 2005 and 2009.
In their first appearance in 2005, they managed to reach their best position and that was a semi final position where they lost 3-4 to Brazil and finishing fourth.
After missing out on 2007 FIFA U-17 world cup, the side came back in 2009 and delivered yet another eye-catching performance where their journey ended in the quarter-finals, losing to Columbia in a penalty shoot-out.
Now they are back in the competition and hoping to put up some illustrious performances.

Mehmet Hacioğlu’s side ended their spectacular journey in the UEFA European U-17 championship after losing to England in a closely fought encounter.
In their journey to the semifinals, first they lost a close encounter with Spain but then they defeated teams like Italy, Croatia, Hungary before going down fighting to the English side in the semifinals.
