The Black starlets have won the trophy in 1991 and 1995 and will be counting on the likes of Eric Ayiah, Emmanuel Toku, Aminu Mohammed and goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad to clinch a third title this time around.

This will be Colombia’s sixth appearance at a FIFA U-17 World Cup and their first since Nigeria 2009 when they finished third and matched their previous best performance at the tournament, dating back to Finland 2003.

“We are here to prove ourselves. It has been a long time getting to this stage but I believe every good thing takes time before yielding results. Now we are here and everybody will see the stuff we are made of,” Fabin said at a pre-match conference.

In this millennium, Ghana only qualified for the u-17 world cup in 2005 and 2007 ending the campaign in a disappointment.
