FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017: Ghana Face Columbia In the clash of the titans
The Black starlets have won the trophy in 1991 and 1995 and will be counting on the likes of Eric Ayiah, Emmanuel Toku, Aminu Mohammed and goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad to clinch a third title this time around.
This will be Colombia’s sixth appearance at a FIFA U-17 World Cup and their first since Nigeria 2009 when they finished third and matched their previous best performance at the tournament, dating back to Finland 2003.
“We are here to prove ourselves. It has been a long time getting to this stage but I believe every good thing takes time before yielding results. Now we are here and everybody will see the stuff we are made of,” Fabin said at a pre-match conference.
In this millennium, Ghana only qualified for the u-17 world cup in 2005 and 2007 ending the campaign in a disappointment.
Tactically, this is going to be a mouth watering clash. The Colombian coach prefers possesion style of football,he said in the press conference that Colombia will look to keep the ball for the maximum time and creating more chances.
While, Paa Kwesi Fabin prefers his side to operate with a tight defense and rely on counter attacks for goals.
Prediction: This will be a tight match, Ghana, and Columbia both the teams have talented players. The teams will look to play cautious football in the first half, we predict draw for this match.
