FC Goa regained their winning form after a scrappy victory over the new entrant of the Indian Super League, Jamshedpur FC. FC Goa had the lion share of possession but it was visitors who looked more lively in the match.
FC Goa started with their regular playing XI and relegated Juste, Sana on the bench. FC Goa controlled the possession but it was Jamshedpur who looked like taking the early lead. The Goans tried to break the strongest of the league but it failed in first few minutes. It took 43rd-minute Penalty to break the strongest defence in the league. Andre Bikey brought down Brandon Fernandes, from the closure look it looked like the unfair call by the referee. Lanzarote made no mistake in slotting the ball past Subrata Pal.
FC Goa back in the playoff Zone
The second half resumed with Goa having better exchanging of the two teams. A goal on the scoresheet gave FC Goa players confidence to dictate the pace of the game but it did not last long. Edu Bedia could have killed the game in the dying minute of the regulation time. The box to box midfielder missed a sitter in front of the goal. Goa moves 4th in the table and will be happy to find their 3 pointer form. Jamshedpur FC will have a lot to worry, they are finding hard to score goals which have been their biggest problems.
Goa next travel to Kerala on 21st of January while Jamshedpur FC host Kerala Blasters on 17th of January.
