Adrian Colunga has reportedly fallen out of favour under Sergio Lobera and has been released. The Spanish forward reportedly was frustrated for not getting enough game time.
The gaffer refused to give any particular reason for not selecting the former Las Palmas man. Adrian Colunga has not featured in the FC Goa match day and according to our sources, the Spaniard has already left Goa. Colunga came with a huge reputation, he was expected to be one of the key signings of the FC Goa in the Indian Super League.
Although Colunga was actively involved in FC Goa’s pre-season training, he hasn’t been travelling with the squad for away games and has played the only single game for the Gaurs. The only match he played he scored goals and assisted one. Coro consistency in front of goal made it hard for Coluga to find his place in the starting XI.
Jose Antonio Reyes or Rafael Coelho may join FC Goa
His potential replacements could be José Antonio Reyes or Rafael Coelho. Jose Antonio Reyes is experienced Spaniard who has seen international football with Spain. He recently got released by his club Espanyol. He will bring a lot of experience in the FC Goa dressing room.
The other name which coming forward is Brazilian forward Rafael Coelho. The Brazilian was part of the FC Goa setup for two seasons. Coelho, one of the fan favourite is most likely to join the Goans as Colunga replacement. He was one of the key players for the Goans in season 2 and season 3. He recently played in Thailand League playing for Chiangrai United.
It will be interesting next couple of weeks for the FC Goa fans. The franchise is playing excellent football and they will be eager to make it to the playoff for the third time in their history.
